As a standalone product, the Constant is far from being soggy and slow. It is well cushioned, with a slightly softer sensation felt immediately under the foot vs. a Vanquish/Conquest/Bondi. Great for long runs, as all Hoka’s are, and the supportive nature of the midsole is distinctly underscored.
The Gaviota 4 is the highest level stability shoe offered by HOKA, right along side that plush cushioning feel from the Bondi! A ll of that combined does make it their heaviest shoe. The Gaviota is a maximum cushioning running shoe that provides a smooth, cushioned ride with some stability for long distances.
The Hoka Bondi 8 remains comfortable for new runners doing their first 2-3 miles and could be a very useful addition if you are increasing your mileage as more experienced runners. The stack height of the Bondi 8 is high at 39mm in the heel and 35mm in the forefoot. The midsole splays out, so the base of the shoe is broader than your foot.
