Like the gang warfare system of GTA: San Andreas, Gang and Turf highlights neutral territory and gang-occupied areas with colour-coded map markers. Likewise, each outfit's strength is identified by a number. Go to an Ammu-Nation and buy a bunch of ammo and some body armor and then save before taking over territory in case you die or get arrested.
Because I've heard that you can expand the gang territories in this game by flying away from the island of San Andreas for a very long time. Yeah, go figure. And if you win those gang wars, then that territory belongs to Grove Street Families. However, this messes up with your percentage.

At any rate, this leads into - Do I need the 'territory' north of San Fiero for 100% gang territories? NO. I repeat, you do NOT need this territory, or at least, I showed 100% territory owned without it. There are a couple of territories in Los Santos that are EXTREMELY thin, as in less than the width of a street.
In the definitive edition it only spawns the ballas, families and vagos gangsters. None of the other gangs spawn. In gta sa original the cheat code spawns more than just those three gangs, they somehow managed to fuck up the cheat codes too. The territory glitch was also patched for no apparent reason, they removed the best fucking glitch in gNM6MDC.
