Both have a vested interest in making these games the absolute best they can be. Both are neglecting that by constantly cutting corners and rushing games out. Best pokemon game in years, purely because it's new. Every single mainline pokemon game since the first has been the same -> 8 gyms, elite four, mostly incredibly linear, great combat system but incredibly easy. Now it looks like this is the new direction for pokemon games, open world, more difficult and interactive combat, etc. Given that the switch can make pretty good looking games like Botw, mario odyssey, and smash ultimate the fact that there really isn't an amazing looking Pokémon game is a shame, considering that Pokémon is one of the biggest franchises. Even if most of that money comes from merchandise, the money still goes to the Pokémon Company who funds v5vY.
